In the years that followed, Mary built a beloved brand known for its classic silhouettes, exquisite smocking, and timeless style. Pretty Wild Kids dresses became cherished across Australia and beyond, and soon came the accessories, then the knitwear all carrying that signature mix of tradition and whimsy.
But as all good stories go, there were challenges. Manufacturing hurdles outside her control forced a rethink, and Mary, ever the problem solver, decided to bring production home to Australia. Just as momentum grew, the world changed overnight. Lockdowns hit, and local factories pivoted to making masks. Still, she refused to give up. She found smaller local makers, those who could offer true boutique craftsmanship, and together they created something deeply special: stockings, custom embroidery, and eventually… the masterpiece the Poster Advent Calendar.
Each calendar is a patchwork of festive Liberty prints, linen, checks, and even treasured offcuts from her own dress collections. It’s a fusion of artistry, frugality, and deep respect for the materials a perfect symbol of Mary's creative spirit.
